Pesticide Use on Railroad Property Section 94.697 (“Railroad pesticide use”) of the Wisconsin statutes was enacted in the 2009-2010 legislative session and went into effect on May 26, 2010. The law’s intent is to protect railroad workers by providing them and their direct supervisors with pesticide safety information and pesticide safety training. The law also requires railroads to provide public access to information on pesticide use by railroads under this law. The Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection oversees this law and has posted pertinent information on its website.
